An interesting fact is that 25% of all men and 50% of all women will suffer an outbreak of acne. Just as it does for the teen adult acne often causes stress for the adult . The pimple, blackhead, whitehead or cyst that invades the adult is just as frustrating for adults as it is for teens! Being an adult doesn’t mean you don’t have the same reactions to acne that teens do, it is certainly not uncommon for adults to have acne.

It is the same treatment for adult acne as it is for teen acne. Wash your face twice a day with mild soap (available in Pat’s store) using your hands to wash with to avoid tearing the skin as can, and more often than not, occurs when a Buff Puff, sponge or washcloth is used. Although you probably think that scrubbing your face really hard will clear out the adult acne the fact is that it will only open up areas for the bacteria to invade. Pores clog, bacteria grows and acne results.

At the heart of acne lies the pimple — what doctors call a comedo. It’s a plug of fat, skin debris, and keratin (the stuff nails, hair, and skin are made of) stuck in a hair duct. When it’s open, we call it a blackhead. When it’s closed over, we call it a whitehead. Whiteheads often cause the walls of the hair duct to rupture. This leads to redness, infection, and the papules, pustules, nodules, and cysts of acne. Often the urge to "pinch" the whitehead (or pimple) seems to overcome our common sense, just don’t do it. All you will accomplish by pinching the pimple will be to open up the area to allow more bacteria to invade the sore and you will have a worse problem than you did to begin with. Just wash your face and remember that it may take a few days to clear up the acne, just be diligent about washing twice a day.

People can spend a fortune trying all the acne treatments available. Before you go crazy spending money on the miracle cure, try using the gentle soap that is for sale in Pat’s store. The only other place I have seen this soap available for public purchase is at the pharmacy where the cost is much higher than it is on this site. Adult acne is no different than teen acne, it is caused by the pores becoming clogged with fat, dead skin and oil. Wash your face twice a day, don’t overwash it, that causes your system to produce more sebum (the oil) which will cause more breakouts.

On previous pages there are treatment suggestions and myths that should help you determine what is acne truth and what is a acne myth.

Some causes of adult acne are as follows:

Medication: Some medications that can induce acne include anabolic steroids (sometimes used illegally by athletes to “bulk up”), some anti-epileptic medications, the anti-tuberculosis drugs isoniazid and rifampin, lithium and iodine-containing medications.

Chronic physical pressure on the skin. Chafing from the straps of a backpack or tucking a violin between the jaw and chin can cause chronic physical pressure on the skin and may induce a condition known as acne mechanica.

Chlorinated industrial chemicals.

Metabolic conditions. Changes in the hormonal balance, such as those brought about by pregnancy, menstruation or hormonal abnormalities can induce acne.

It is also important to know that some lesions which appear to be adult acne are not adult acne at all. One skin condition that resembles adult acne is folliculitis, which occurs when the hair follicles become infected and inflamed. Folliculitis requires different treatment than acne.

Some causes of adult acne are stress, bad cosmetics, hormones and birth control pills. Stress causes your oil glands to overcompensate. Bad cosmetics lead to bacteria-laden pores. Hormones cause the sebacuous glands to overact and birth control pills with androgen in them can cause breakouts. To keep breakouts at bay, look for oil-free, non-acnegenic products.

How to reduce adult acne problems:

You shouldn’t squeeze, pick, scratch, or rub your skin as it makes the problem worse, and it might even cause scarring.

Regularly shampoo your hair, and try to keep it off your face if possible - especially at night.

Keep a food diary to work out if you are one of the few people whose acne gets worse if they eat certain things.

Exercise regularly to get the old blood flowing, and make sure you get a wash as soon after as possible.

Avoid unnecessarily touching your face.

If possible, try to minimize your stress levels.

Avoid getting sunburned.

Change your wash cloth every day, as bacteria can grow on damp cloth. (Better yet, use your hands to wash your face.)

Wash your face twice a day with a gentle soap like that available in Pat’s store. (The only other place I have seen this available to the public is at the pharmacy, you can get it from my store for a whole lot less money!)

Always rinse really well with lots of water.

Only wear makeup that is water based, and then make sure you remove it completely.

Granular facial scrub can make acne worse by aggravating the skin.

Drink lots of water, water clears out the toxins from your system and hydrates your body.

Avoid Penetrating Oils: Contrary to popular belief, not all oils are comedogenic. Petroleum products, mineral oil and sunflower oil do not penetrate into the pore. Most cosmetic oils, however, can aggravate acne — so it’s best to avoid them. One of the most common acne triggers in skin products, especially lotions and sunscreens, is lanolin, a fatty acid extracted from sheep’s wool. Isopropyl Myristate, which promotes smooth, even application in many foundations, is such an aggressive penetrator that it’s the main ingredient in most rust-removers! In general, products labeled “oil-free” and "non-comedogenic" are less likely to clog your pores and trigger breakouts.

Style your hair with care. Most hair products are full of the ingredients which should be kept away from your skin: alcohol, adhesives and oils. So if you’re prone to acne, use care when styling your hair — cover your skin when you spray, and try to keep oils, mousses, gels and pomades away from the skin at the hairline. And don’t use hair products when you exercise; perspiration from your scalp can carry styling products onto your skin, contributing to new breakouts.

There are some acne myths that SOUND good, but are truly acne myths. A few of them are:

Premarital sex or masturbation causes acne. Not so, the myth was around before you were born (like the 1700’s) to try to prevent premarital sex or mastrubation by the youth of the society.

Stress causes acne. Not so here either. Stress can aggrivate acne, but it does not cause it. Bacteria causes acne. Plain and simple.

Diet causes acne. An allergic reaction to some foods may cause acne, but gosh, if you get acne after eating a specific food then don’t eat it. Chocolate, wine, greasy french fries and so forth do not cause acne, they may make you gain weight, but they don’t give you acne (unless you are allergic to them) so relax, just eat them in moderation to avoid the calories and fats.

If I get a good suntan my acne will go away. Nope, sorry, this isn’t true either, in fact, too much sun will cause your body to produce more sebum (the oil that your body produces to keep your skin soft and moist) which will clog your pores and make the probability of acne increase rather than decrease. That doesn’t mean you should stay out of the sun, just use common sense, sunblock and don’t burn. When you come in from the tanning be sure to gently wash off the sunblock to keep your pores clean by removing excess gunk.

Wash your face many times a day. Don’t! Wash your face twice a day using the soap that Pat has available in her store. Use your hands to wash your face rather than a Buff Puff or sponge (washcloths can be too abrasive too if you really rub hard) because they will tear your skin (you probably won’t see the tears but your pores will and the bacteria will thank you for giving them new areas to infect.) Don’t overwash, this stimulates the sebrum production and is asking for problems.

Acne is caused by poor hygiene. Nope, this too is an acne myth, it is caused by bacteria. If you wash your face twice a day with Pat’s soap (available in the store) the way discussed earlier in this post you will certainly not have poor hygiene (wash your body too to avoid body acne…not twice a day…gosh…a shower a day will do it for your body and you do that everyday anyway so you don’t have poor hygiene!)

Acne is a cosmetic disease. Of course acne makes you feel icky, of course it looks bad, but the fact is, it is not a serious threat to your health. Keep your fingers off the acne, don’t pick, pinch, dig or whatever, if you do the possiblilty of scarring is strong….then it’s cosmetic. All you accomplish by picking, pinching or digging is to open a larger area for the bacteria to grow.

Don’t wear makeup. Of course you can wear makeup. Just use the waterbased products or those that are marked noncomedognetic or nonacnegenic. These products are designed to not block your pores. Again, be sure to wash your face twice a day, the last time making sure you remove all remaining makeup to keep your pores open and clean.

Using more medicine will get your acne under control Big acne myth! If you are breaking out and over do the medicine you will dry out your skin and cause it to become truly irritated making it produce more oil and then…..yes, you will have a major breakout. Over doing medicine is NOT the right answer. Wash your face twice a day, that will do it.

Acne is for teens, as an adult you won’t get it. Not true. Adults certainly can get acne, men and women between the ages of 24 and 44 get acne. Senior citizens also get acne. Acne is not just pimples, it is also whiteheads, blackheads and cysts. Again, wash your face twice a day!

Smoking causes acne. Not so. Although smoking will certainly leave residue on your skin and damage the tissue after years causing wrinkles, it does not cause acne.

Only perscription drugs will cure acne. Not so, wash your face twice a day. Although there are some acne issues that need to be addressed by a dermatologist (severe acne) most can be addressed with a quality soap (such as Pat’s soap available on the store page…..and it’s cheap!)

The dark stuff in blackheads is dirt. Not so, it’s a combination of dead skin and oil (remember sebum?). A blackhead is a clogged pore that is open on the surface, the material inside oxidizes and turns black, therein the name blackhead.

Toothpaste or hemorriod cream will clear up your acne. Another acne myth! Although it may dry out the surface of the pimple it certainly won’t cure it. In fact, it may irritate the skin and cause more problems. Bummer!

If you have cyst acne you may need to visit a dermatologist for more specific acne treatment. Severe acne is something that needs to be treated by a specialist to get it under control and avoid scarring and long term problems. Don’t be afraid to get help when you need it, after all, your face and body are yours for a lifetime, take care of them!

A breakout of acne is not something that will clear up over night. It can take up to 8 weeks to get it totally cleaned up. Wash your face twice a day, drink LOTS of water (to remove toxins from your system). That doesn’t mean soda or juice, it means water. Think about it, sodas and juice, coffe and tea all have substances that leave residue in your system. Water flushes your system, it’s good for you! (in more ways than just removing toxins for acne…drink water!!)

There are some common sense things you can do to help treat acne. First off, don’t pick, pinch or rub your pimples. This will just make them worse by spreading the bacteria. This will also increase the possibilities of leaving a scar….don’t do it!

Wash your face twice daily with soap (the soap that is the best is the one on page one of this post…), don’t scrub your face, wash it. Blot it dry. Do not use a rough sponge to wash with, that tears the skin and causes more acne problems. Do not overwash, twice daily is enough, overwashing can cause your glands to produce more sebum which will increase the possibility of more acne.

Drink lots of water! That’s water…not soda or juice…water carries the waste material away from your body and helps the body heal and prevents flairups. Water flushes the junk out of your system, hydrates your skin so you have healthy looking skin and costs lots less than soda!

If you wear makeup, use waterbased and make sure you wash your makeup off before going to bed. Makeup clogs your pores so clean it up. Wash your face, blot it dry and let your skin breath without makeup for awhile.

Exercise moderately, it increases the blood flow which eliminates toxins. How does this work? It’s called persperation. It cleanses the system, just be sure to shower and clean off the gunk after exercising, you’ll feel great and look great too!

Watch what you eat. Certain foods may cause you to have an allergic reaction. If you notice a problem with certain foods, leave them alone.

Keep your face clean. Avoid resting your face on your hands, hands have oil which add to your face oils causing an overload. Keep your hair off your face, especially at night. Hair oil is another problem for acne.

Get outside in the sun and fresh air. Sun stimulates Vitamin D which is essential for good skin. Fresh air and sun reduce stress and increase oxygen to your system. Don’t overdue it in the sun. Burned skin thickens and makes cleaning more difficult and can lead to blocked pores.

Teen acne is basically a result of hormonal which is a normal part of puberty. It is claimed that 8 out of 10 teens get acne at some point.

There are different types of breakouts, blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, and cysts. They are caused when the sebaceous glands (oil glands) get clogged with sebum, which is the oil that lubricates your hair and skin. With the hormonal changes that take place during puberty the amount of sebum produced is sometimes more than you should have. Often the pores become clogged with the sebum and dead skin which cause the outbreak. Bacteria can get trapped inside the pores and multiply which causes the swelling and redness.

Depending on the severity of the "clog" will determine which type of acne errupts.

A whitehead is when the pore clogs up and closes up with a bulge appearing. If the pore gets clogged but stays open you will have a blackhead. A pimple is when the wall of the pour opens up and allows dead skin, bacteria, sebum under the skin. Pimples often times have pus in them as a result of the body’s reaction to the bacterial infection. Cysts (or nodules) are the result of the pores opening deeply and allowing the infection from the bacteria, dead skin and sebum to become larger than pimples and are often quite painful.

The type of food you eat is not the reason for an outbreak, french fries, chocolate or soda do not cause acne. That being said, if you notice an increase in breakouts after consuming certain foods, be smart and omit those foods from your diet, it may help.

Stress can cause acne to get worse due to the increased production of sebum during stressful times.

To help prevent acne or to help in clearing acne up, wash twice daily with the facial cleansing soap discussed on a previous post. Don’t SCRUB your face, that just tears the skin and allows bacteria to grow. Wash twice daily, blot dry. Keep your pores clean to help to prevent or clear up acne.

As a teen you probably wear makeup and sunscreen. Make sure you get the "oil free", "noncomedognetic" or "nonacnegenic" variety and wash your face to remove all residue. Don’t go to bed with makeup on or sunscreen left over from the day in the sun still on your face. That’s just asking for acne to break out.

If you use hairspray, keep it away from your face since it will clog your pores as well as hold your hair in place. Keep your hair clean! Hair has lots of oil and will certainly add to the oily residue on your face if you don’t keep it clean!

So what do you do if you get a sign of a pimple even though you have been doing everything correctly? When you notice one, wash your face and then leave it alone! If you pick, pinch or squeeze it you will just cause it to become worse, the oil from your hands and the fact that you now have an open sore just make it take longer to clear up.

Girls often will get acne just before their period. This is due to the hormonal change taking place in their body. Don’t panic, it will go away, just keep your fingers off them and continue with washing your face twice daily.

Bacteria is the reason for acne. Keep your face clean to decrease the bacterial growth. As has been stated over and over in these articles, wash your face twice daily with Pat’s soap and don’t scrub, wash gently and rinse well.

Acne is not something that can be cured, it can be controlled, it can be treated with something as simple as washing your face twice daily, being the habit of doing this early, it will certainly assist in you keeping beautiful skin.

There are more than 50 types of acne, the most common is the vulgaris.

The desire to scrub your face with a Loofah sponge, Buff Puff or other abrasive product may make you think it will "deeply clean out the pores" when in fact it just makes the acne worse. You tear the skin when you use these products, you open up the pores allowing more bacterial growth to take place. Remember, the reason you get acne is because of baceria. You can’t avoid bacteria, it’s everywhere including in the air, so make sure you wash your face twice a day to wash the bacteria off.

Treating the one pimple is not going to work. You need to wash the entire face to keep the skin in good condition. If you have one pimple the bacteria growth is there, you need to keep it clean and the entire area around it clean to assist in preventing a larger outbreak.

The sun and fresh air are good for you, but don’t get too much sun. Sun’s ultraviolet rays can damage the skin, damaged skin is weak skin and therefore more susceptible to bacerial growth.

Wash just twice a day, excessive washing actually causes the acne to grow by encouraging the body to produce more oils, so wash just twice a day. Do it right, use the facial cleansing soap recommended on page one.

It takes three to four weeks for a pimple to form, therefore, what you eat, the dirt you get into or the stress you are under today will not mean a breakout tomorrow, make sure you keep to the regement of washing twice a day….everyday….to keep the risk reduced of an outbreak.

Age does not necessarily mean acne, acne can happen to any age group and either sex. Acne is caused by bacteria, keep your face clean. You do not grow out of the acne age, it will reduce when puberty is passed but it still happens, regardless of your age. Skin care is critical to reduce the possibility of acne development. Again, wash your face twice a day!

Rather than offer you a natural acne free skin care solution, it seems like everywhere you look someone is trying to sell you some expensive "wonder" solution for acne problems. The more expensive the product is the more grandiouse the claims. It becomes overwhelming and frustrating…to say nothing of expensive to try to clear up acne.

Every parent or grandparent has lived through the tribulation of "zits". They either suffered with their own acne problems or had friends that did. Now their children or grandchildren are suffering the same acne problems.

You have probably purchased some of the expensive products, perhaps they worked and perhaps they didn’t. Either way it seems that there should be something that doesn’t cost a fortune which actually helps with the problem.

I can tell you what I kow to be true and let you make your own mind up as to whether you want to give it a try and see if it works for you.

I am a hotel owner. As a hotelier, I really care about the quality of products that we make available to our guests to use - and this soap is just fantastic!

Everyone knows that good personal hygene is very important, but not all soaps are created equal. In fact, many soaps are actually hard on the skin. Many contain abrasives that can irritate or even damage your skin. The soap that we use at the hotel has brought rave reviews from everyone that has used it, whether they have acne problems or not. But, the most exciting thing to have occured is the number of guests that have commented on how their complexion has cleared up after using our soap.

I would like to tell you about an all-natural facial cleanser, my Facial Cleansing Bar. It is a gentle cleanser that is designed to provide a gentle level of moisturizer without the abrasives that can damage skin or the excessive oils and creams that can actually aggravate acne!

Our granddaughters were here visiting and had slight breakouts of acne while they were here. After hearing about the great results our guests have had using our soap I asked the girls to bring a bar home and use it twice a day to see if it would work on their acne. Fortunately they agreed and used the soap. The acne was gone in just a few days (4 actually), their skin was soft and moist and the acne was gone!

I then asked some of my staff to try it and they had the same results. Now, I am not claiming that this soap is a wonder cure. I am just stating that it sure worked to relieve the acne problems of those that have used it twice a day.

Some may say that you can use any soap twice a day and you will clear up your acne. Now, that may be true, it didn’t work that way for those that I talked with and with our granddaughters, but it may work for some.

If you are tired of hearing your children complain about their acne or seeing them decline invitations to events because they don’t want to be seen with their faces all broken out then you understand how frustrating it is for not only the person with the acne problem but also for the family around them! If there is something as simple as a bar of soap that clears up their problems, life certainly would be more pleasant for all concerned.

I am offering to sell this soap to you to try. I’m not guaranteeing that it will work, I will just say it worked for those that told me about their results (and believe me, those that used it would have told me if it didn’t work!!)

Why not give it a try, see if it works for you. What have you got to lose? And look at what you have to gain!!

The most critical question concerning purchasing something new is how much does it cost. Some of the products I checked had prices of $49 to $100. These products have an array of creams, jells, lotions and cleansers. That sure seems like a great deal of "stuff" to be putting on your face to clear up your skin, but, they may work. I’m certainly not claiming they don’t.

I am just saying that before you invest that kind of money try the soap! For just $1.25 per bar you will be able to see how it works for you. No, you didn’t misread the cost. It is truly just $1.25 per bar. Try it, if it works for you then you have saved yourself anywhere from $47.75 or more!! No one wants to spend more than they have to in order to solve a problem, now you don’t have to.

Just go to the shopping cart and put in your order. I will ship it to you as soon as payment is received and you will be able see the results in just a few days!

That’s right, go to the shopping cart, click on the add to order button and place your order. http://www.cheapacnecleanser.com/store/
